Professional-mathematical competence is one of the factors of training a good IT specialist.
This ensures a subsequent self-development and self-presentation of the young specialist at the
workplace, as well as a productive activity under the complicated conditions of the contemporary labor
market. Raising labor productivity and efficiency, solving problems without difficulties in the
professional field that require the application of mathematical methods and techniques are some of the
strengths of the professional-mathematical competence of IT specialists. This article describes the steps of
the pedagogical model proposed for the formation of initial professional competences in computer science
through the optimal correlation of mathematics and informatics courses
